What is Lumecca IPL?
Lumecca IPL is the newest technology using photothermolysis, the strongest IPL currently available to completely rejuvenate the skin. The treatment is non-invasive and works to restore uneven skin tone and diminish signs of aging.
Lumecca is a simple non-surgical procedure that treats vascular and pigmented lesions to help reduce the signs of aging on the face, body, or any area you may notice sun or age spots. During the session, our aesthetic team will use a handheld device to produce a flash of light along with mild vibrations across the treatment area. There is only a minimal recovery period meaning you can return to your day-to-day activities following treatment.

What To Expect
The Plastic Surgery Clinic Surgery of Jackson is committed to ensuring each patient is comfortable going into their treatment. Dr. Yellen and his aesthetic team will answer any questions you may have about Lumecca IPL during your consultation. During your treatment, we will prep your skin and provide protective eyewear. We will then use the Lumecca handheld device over the treatment area. Most patients do not find the treatment uncomfortable. The most you may feel is a warm sensation or pinch on the treated portion of your skin.
Following treatment, you may experience redness which is normal and should subside within 24-48 hours. Once the redness is gone, you may notice that the pigmented areas are darker than before the procedure. This is also expected. Within a few days, those pigmented areas will scab and flake off on their own. It is important to refrain from picking at the scabs to avoid infection. Your skin is healing and will continue to improve, with final results appearing in one to two weeks.
